What it actually smells like

It opens fruity and genuinely boozy — pitahaya and apple with cognac giving it that warm, slightly spiked edge, and bergamot keeping the first few minutes bright. The heart is the best part: creamy toffee with cardamom, and suede softening it so the sweetness never turns sharp. The dry-down is tonka bean, patchouli and Akigalawood, smooth and rich. It is the richest of the four 9PMs and the one built specifically for a night out.
