Created by Pierre Bourdon in 1988, Cool Water invented the aquatic category. Every blue fragrance you have ever smelled — including most of what is sold today — traces back to this one. The opening is cool sea water, mint and lavender; the heart softens with neroli and geranium over sandalwood; the base is a mossy, musky warmth that modern aquatics mostly abandoned in favour of ambroxan. It smells dated to some noses and timeless to others, and at this price a 5ml decant settles which camp you are in.

How long does Cool Water last on skin?
Around 4–6 hours. It is a classic-strength EDT, so it does not last as long as modern EDPs — reapplying midday is normal and the reason the 20ml size makes sense for daily wearers.

Is Cool Water good for Indian summers?
Yes, it is one of the best. The sea water and mint opening is built for heat, and it was designed long before fragrances were tuned for air-conditioned offices.

Is Cool Water outdated?
It smells of its era, which some people love and some do not. It is greener and mossier than modern blues. At 5ml, finding out costs very little.
