What a Rose–Oud Actually Smells Like

Rose–oud is one of the oldest pairings in Middle Eastern perfumery, and it behaves nothing like a Western rose. The rose here reads deep and almost syrupy rather than fresh-cut, and the agarwood under it is woody and resinous with a faint smoky edge. If you have only ever worn designer florals, expect something considerably denser and more serious. If you already wear attars, this is the classic reference shape of the genre.
