What it actually smells like

The opening is the surprise — grapefruit and pink pepper give it a genuinely bright, almost fresh first ten minutes, with saffron adding that leathery-metallic edge that runs through most of Lattafa's better work. Then it turns: tobacco and cedar come forward with vanilla smoothing the edges, and the dry-down settles into frankincense and light amber over patchouli, with cashmeran giving it a soft, slightly fuzzy warmth. It is the most incense-forward of the Asad line and the least sweet.

Asad vs. Asad Bourbon vs. Asad Elixir: which one is this?

This is Asad Elixir — the brightest opening and the most resinous base of the three. For reference, the rest of the line:

• Asad — the dark amber-spicy original: black pepper and tobacco over dry woods, coffee and vanilla. The heaviest and most "nighttime" of the three.
• Asad Bourbon — the sweet one: lavender and plum up top, cacao and nutmeg at the heart, bourbon vanilla and amber underneath.
• Asad Elixir — saffron and grapefruit up top, tobacco and cedar at the heart, frankincense and amber in the base. Drier and more incense-led than either.

What is the difference between Asad and Asad Elixir?
Asad is the darker, sweeter original built on black pepper, tobacco, coffee and dry woods. Asad Elixir opens brighter with grapefruit and saffron and dries down into frankincense and amber, making it drier and more incense-led.

How long does Asad Elixir last on skin?
Most wearers get 8–10 hours, with heavy projection in the first two hours before it settles closer to the skin.

Is Asad Elixir suitable for Indian summers?
Better than the original Asad, thanks to the grapefruit and saffron opening. One or two sprays works in the heat; the incense base still shows best in cooler weather.
